Chargepoly, the specialist in ultra-fast charging solutions for electric vehicles, is broadening its horizons and now tackling the passenger transport sector. After proving the effectiveness of its technologies in the logistics sector, the Aix-en-Provence-based company is now announcing its entry into this fast-growing market.
This new step marks a decisive turning point for Chargepoly. On the strength of solid partnerships with key logistics players such as BERT & YOU, Renault Trucks France and Transports Prévost, the Provence-based company is now turning its attention to local authorities and private passenger transport companies. The passenger transport market is at the forefront of electrification, with almost a third of buses sold now electric,” explains Thomas Vanquaethem, Chargepoly’s Deputy Managing Director. This is a strategic segment for our growth. Our solution, proven in the logistics and transport market, has been adapted to perfectly meet the needs of bus and coach fleets.”
Fleet-centric architecture for bus and coach operators
To meet the specific requirements of bus and coach fleets, Chargepoly relies on an innovative, distributed architecture. Unlike dual-socket charging stations, the station’s architecture pools power conversion via remote cabinets that transform AC current into DC, which is then distributed to compact, modular charging satellites. This design is better suited to depot space constraints, and minimizes construction work.
French manufacturing and 24/7 technical support
One of Chargepoly’s major assets is that its stations are manufactured locally in France. This proximity guarantees rapid access to spare parts and responsive after-sales service. Fleet operators benefit from technical support available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ensuring optimum service continuity and rapid intervention in the event of breakdown. To guarantee complete control of its solutions, the company designs and develops its own software and hardware technologies from start to finish.
Optimized interoperability and real-time management
Chargepoly’s solution is compatible with all electric buses, and the communication protocols between the station and the vehicles comply with the main market standards (ISO 15118, VDV261, VDV 463, etc.). Thanks to the Lucie SaaS platform, fleet managers can supervise and optimize the use of charging satellites in real time, and adjust operating schedules. Lucie, enhanced by a “smart charging” functionality in partnership with Dreev, also enables hour-by-hour monitoring of the electricity market to take advantage of the cheapest charging times. Finally, the platform can be integrated with the main operating tools used by fleet managers (SAE, telematics, etc.).
Maximum flexibility and reduced installation costs
Designed to facilitate large-scale electrification, the Chargepoly solution is perfectly suited to environments with limited space. Thanks to its compact charging satellites, which can be floor-mounted or wall-mounted, it offers great installation flexibility, while reducing the costs and time involved in civil engineering work. An efficient solution that meets the requirements of modern infrastructures.
“Chargepoly is committed to providing bus and coach fleet managers with a charging solution that combines performance, flexibility and cost optimization. With our innovative approach and local technical support, we can help operators make the transition to electric vehicles with complete peace of mind,” concludes Hadi Moussavi, President and Founder of Chargepoly.
When it came to greening his fleet of vehicles, Damien Derocq opted for electrification. After testing other energy sources, electricity seems to me to be the best solution for the future,” says Damien Derocq. For environmental reasons, of course, but also for economic reasons. There can be no energy transition without considering this cost logic, which is vital for our companies”. On the strength of this analysis, the transporter has just invested in the purchase of 3 Renault Trucks tractors, which were delivered in early April, as well as a fourth truck from a German manufacturer for delivery in the 1st quarter of 2025. To charge the vehicles already received, Transports Derocq chose to install a CHARGEPOLY ultra-fast charging station at the end of April. This is equipped with a Power Unit serving 3 charging satellites, delivering an installed power of 200 kW. Electric vehicles shuttle goods locally from two production plants to the depot of a major logistics provider. Tours of 250, 450 or 650 km, in 2×8, depending on transport requirements. After a few weeks of use, Damien Derocq says he’s “very satisfied with the solution and his partnership with CHARGEPOLY”. The Aix-en-Provence engineering company was chosen for its offer, the French manufacture of its charging solution, and the quality of its teams’ attentiveness and support.
