The multi-specialist construction group has just completed the installation of an ultra-fast electric charging station for CHARGEPOLY engineering at its Evres-sur-Indre (37) site. The station will power the first electric tipper truck of its subsidiary Cap Recyclage, dedicated to the collection and recycling of construction waste.
The Loir-et-Chérien CHAVIGNY Group is continuing to green its activities in line with its commitment to the circular economy. Among its many initiatives, the century-old family business set up a subsidiary in 2013 to process construction waste. Named Cap Recyclage, it collects 80,000 tonnes of waste per year (wood, plaster, glass wool, scrap metal, etc.), which it sorts in 4 automated centers and recycles in part on its CSR line at Saint-Amand-Longpré (41) to be transformed into fuel for cement works.
As part of its drive to reduce pollutant emissions, the family-owned company has just installed an ultra-fast electric charging station from Aix-based engineering firm Chargepoly at its Evres-sur-Indre (37) industrial site. Operational for a few days now, the charging infrastructure is designed to power the company’s first 26-tonne electric truck from the Renault Trucks brand, which the company has also just acquired. The dump truck, with a range of 300 km, will be dedicated to waste collection within a 50 km radius of the city of Tours. It joins a fleet of ten Ampliroll trucks running on B100. The station, with an installed power of 200 kW, is equipped with two distribution points (charging satellites) enabling the vehicle to be charged from 10% to 90% in around 1h20.
Chargepoly, a trusted partner for Renault Trucks
Several criteria led the CHAVIGNY Group to select CHARGEPOLY for this project. First and foremost, its trusted partnership with Renault Trucks, which introduced the Aix-based company to the construction multi-specialist. Another argument: the introduction by 2025 of EPZs in towns of over 150,000 inhabitants, including Tours, located just a few kilometers north of the Evres-sur-Indre site. CHARGEPOLY’s support also convinced the group and its fleet manager, François TIHAY. “Right from the start of our collaboration, we had a very good relationship with the CHARGEPOLY teams. The quality of our discussions and the precision of the information they provided only reinforced our choice,” he emphasizes.
The acquisition of the electric vehicle and its charging infrastructure was carried out as part of their eligibility for the ADEME call for projects, which enabled them to obtain subsidies. On the strength of this experience, the CHAVIGNY Group plans to submit two new applications this year, again in the Tours area: one for its transport activity and a second for its distribution branch dedicated to materials trading.
